Andrea Mullineux grew up in San Francisco and studied Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis before arriving in South Africa and falling in love with the country. Andrea and her husband Chris Mullineux established their Mullineux Family Wines in 2007 and settled in the now-iconic Swartland region. Within a very short time period the winery established itself as one of South Africa’s most celebrated wine brands, both locally and abroad. In 2012 Andrea was invited to join the Cape Winemakers Guild and is the current Chair of the organization. In 2013 Chris and Andrea joined forces with Analjit Singh in Franschhoek and started their Leeu Passant winery. Andrea was named Wine Enthusiast’s 2016 International Winemaker of the Year and Tim Atkin’s 2016 South African Winemaker of the Year.
