Charla Bosman qualified in 2012 with a BSc degree in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. After graduating she did her first harvest with Abrie Beeslaar at Kanonkop, and the next at Tokara with Miles Mossop. She also managed the wine shop at De Oude Bank Bakerij in Stellenbosch. After Charla finished a harvest at Margerum in California she joined Sijnn Wines in Malgas as winemaker in December 2014. In recent years she launched her own brand she named Charla Haasbroek Wines after her family maiden name. Sourcing fruit from the unique Sijnn vineyards planted on red river stones overlying Bokkeveld shale on the slopes above the Breede River, her wines are made with minimal intervention notably fermenting with native yeast, lees aging and no filtration.
