Lorraine Geldenhuys grew up on a farm outside Paarl which cultivated her love and passion for agriculture. Inspired by a rural upbringing and her mother, who worked in the wine industry, she completed a BSc and MSc in Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch in 2008. A year later she moved to France to work as a winemaker in Chablis, which established her long term interest in French wines, culture and terroir. Lorraine had always wanted to teach, and returning to South Africa she joined Elsenburg College in 2011 as Winemaker, Cellar Manager and Senior Lecturer.
